I help solopreneurs and founders build a body of work that wins mindshare and moves people to action.
Who the hell am I and why should you care?
I’m a former Head of Content turned Founder with 7+ years experience in the Content Marketing game. I’ve edited 3M+ words, grown my social media audience to 89K+, and wrote a hit song called “Seltzer Water.” (JK. It has 1500 views but it’s a banger.)
My Story: From head of content to founder.
I’ve always loved writing, but I never thought you could actually make money from it. So naturally, I enrolled in the unofficial major for people who have no idea what they want to do with their life—Sociology.
Throughout my 20s, I worked jobs that challenged me but there was always something missing so I got on a plane and went looking for it.
After a short stint at a permaculture farm (I touched a lot of grass and soil), I headed to Thailand to teach English and finally figure myself out.
There, I reconnected with my love for words. And I discovered that I get tons of energy from teaching.
When the contract ended, I decided writing and teaching were two things I needed to pursue—ideally together. So I started freelance writing and eventually made my way into the B2B SaaS Content Marketing world.
This was the first time in my life I made money from writing.
Over the next 5 years, I went from freelance writer to Managing Editor to Head of Content at an organic growth agency. I built a team, developed strategies that helped 100s of writers upskill, and created content that drove growth for our agency and our clients.
But something was still missing. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it, except to say, it felt like I wasn’t living up to my potential.
So I created my first course while I was still in-house and used my growing personal brand to market it.
Lots of people bought it. It was an eye opening moment…
And there I was, writing and teaching at the same time. A year later, I left my job to bet on myself, and Cut the Fluff was born.
Now, I’ve got four courses, several 1:1 offers, and a newsletter that people love to read.
And of course, a hit song about Seltzer, which is obviously my biggest accomplishment in life, besides my twin toddlers (though it’s a close call).
